Jose Vazquez
I was born in Philadelphia while my dad was getting his cardiology degree. But we moved back to Honduras. There I grew up and learned to eat green mangos. I also happened to become a programming geek somewhere along the way.But I think my geek background is different from the norm. On the surface I am very geeky. I managed to go study at Carnegie Mellon where I got an ECE degree. (stupid me, I just wanted to do some programming, but I just had to find out how computer worked inside, and wound up with the wrong degree!) I have since worked mostly at big goverment contractors like Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems (actually one and the same… I worked at Sanders, left, and when I came back the Brits had bought us…) I did a year at Lucent in sunny Huntington Beach. I work with good friends in a small three man shop during the height of the dot-com era. I did a bunch of PHP and java back then. In the end it did not work out, the company did very well, but our friendships became somewhat strained (all good now, thanks for asking)Now, I am not so secretly harboring dreams of becoming a mac indie dev. Along the way I think I might have found a way of pushing some mac goodness into the Army of all places! We’ll see how that goes.
